Bio
Jason Meyer joins Fortitude Fitness Training with over 14 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer, Orthopedic Technician, and Physical Therapy Aide. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from Oregon State University, and that combination of academic and hands-on experience gives him a rare vantage point: he understands not just how to build strength, but how the body heals, adapts, and moves well again after setbacks.
Jason's coaching style is thoughtful, functional, and empowering. He prioritizes movement before load, making sure clients have a solid foundation before adding intensity, and he bridges the gap between physical therapy and performance training so people can stay strong for life. He coaches the whole person, factoring in recovery, hydration, sleep, stress, and consistency alongside exercise itself.
He especially loves working with clients transitioning out of physical therapy who still need guidance, rebuilding strength and confidence as they return to the activities they love, as well as active adults who intend to keep adventuring for decades to come. His approach works well for clients 50 and older who want to train with intention, though his programs are built to meet clients of any age or ability level exactly where they are.
Jason's philosophy is simple: your body isn't becoming incapable, it's becoming more responsive. Rather than chasing exhaustion, he focuses on applying the right stimulus so clients see real, lasting adaptation. His top training tips? Move well before you move more, treat strength as the best investment you can make in your future, and remember that consistency beats intensity every time.
Outside the gym, Jason's passion for mountain biking and Nordic skiing first brought him to town over two decades ago, and it's the community, outdoor lifestyle, and his active family that keep him on the move. When he's not coaching, you'll likely find him on a trail trying to keep pace with them, and on a good day, celebrating with a burger, fries, and a beer at the local pub after a long ride.
